Basic premise of Facebook is to connect people. However, Facebook also makes it damn simple for any registered user to create a quick “personal website”, and allows one to write a blog right from its platform – even though users rarely use Facebook as their primary blogging platform. What prompted me to create my personal website was to showcase my work and life in a unique way and not be lost in Facebook clutter. I’d really appreciate feedback on my work and the website itself.

Here are some of the things I am actively involved in – though they are by no means the only projects. I also blog my “outdoor” activities, though I have blocked the access before I update the blog a bit.

Writing

I write for a number of blogs and publications, and also write my own blog at IT Valley. Primary focus of my articles on VentureBeat and IT Valley is to provide deep insight into an area of importance in venture capital and technology business. Planet Saad’s home page serves as a central location for all my writings – whether on other sites such as VentureBeat and IT Valley, or this site itself, where I blog random stuff.

Consulting

I provide strategy consulting in a number of areas but am particularly interested in mobile strategy and US expansion strategy. Please see my services page for more details.

Teaching and Conferences

I teach at several places – usually in continuing studies, but also at business schools and undergrad Economics departments. My subjects of interest include the following:

Mobile Strategy for Businesses
Technology Strategy
Information Economics
Financial Crises and IMF
Newer Technologies and Entrepreneurship

In addition, I have spoken at and moderated a few prominent conferences and events, especially focused on but not limited to mobile space. If you would like to invite me as a speaker, please send me a message here.
